Prakasha-Vimarsha
One of the central concepts of classical Tantrik philosophy is that of prakasha and vimarsha, the Light of Consciousness and the Power of Self-Awareness, respectively.
Prakasha is associated with Shiva, which here is simply a name for the universal Consciousness that is the ground of all reality.
Vimarsha, as a power (shakti), is associated with the Goddess (also shakti).
Prakasha may also be translated “manifestation,” for the Light of Consciousness manifests all things, which are never separate from that divine Light. However, the manifestation of the universal would be sterile and meaningless without
Vimarsha, the power by which we know ourselves as individual expressions of that universal. Vimarsha is also translated as “representation” for it is the power by which the divine re-presents itself to itself—as us. We are each representations of divine reality, and when we know ourselves as such, we fully exercise the Power of Self-awareness (vimarsha). Finally, Vimarsha may be translated as “reflection,” for it is the reflection of the Absolute in the mirror of awareness within a given individual that expresses specifically and concretely the exquisite beauty that inheres potentially within the Absolute.
So the entire universe is nothing but light and its refractions—that is to say, the one Light of Consciousness reflected as a myriad of unique and beautiful forms, some of which have the capacity to become aware of themselves—which is the only purpose behind spiritual practice. This apparently abstract philosophy plays directly into your practice when you learn that accessing the pulsating flow of universal power we call the Divine is only the first step. The second is becoming aware of how that power expresses itself through you, in a manner wholly unique to you, which is the very reason for your existence.
An Experience in Cosmic Consciousness.
Shiva (Supreme Consciousness) is the entire cosmos in the form of prakasha (the source light) and vimarsha (its expressions). Give up all involvements and entanglements. Stay where you are! All places belong to Shiva. In your own place, know your Self as your Self. The independent “I” that exists within you is Shiva, the perfect “I.” By strengthening your awareness, lose yourself in That. Lose Yourself. To lose yourself is to find yourself….understand this once and for all. There is no Shiva without You.Without Shiva, there is no You.
The nondual tantric tradition depicts a dynamic dance between two aspects of reality known as prakasha (the self-shining light of Awareness) and vimarsha (the self-reflective power of Awareness). Through this cosmic dance, universes are created, sustained, then dissolved back into the vast nothingness from which they arose.
Prakasha is personified by the deity, Shiva, vimarsha by the goddess, Shakti. The two are one. They are inseparable Awareness.
Nothing causes Awareness. Nothing brings It into existence. It always was and always will be. It shines by Itself, and reflects back on Itself in order to know Itself.
Everything you perceive exists as a vibration of Awareness. And this is important to understand because it means you are nothing but the vibration of Awareness. It also means you have the innate power within yourself to know yourself… to become Self-aware.
Divine energy contracts into all the elements of nature. No separation exists between you and that energy. You are That. But in order to create a sense of separateness, a sense of division and boundaries, you forget your true identity. You become identified with the contracted form you find yourself in.
…at your core lies the ability to curve that energy back on yourself and recognize what the Zen Buddhists have called your “original face”.
Awakening to your true identity is your destiny because the power of vimarsha is part of your essential nature. For this reason, every living being, no matter how evil or jaded they may appear, no matter what kind of chaos and destruction follows in their wake, will eventually wake up.
This full realization may take many, many incarnations to achieve, especially if you are currently incarnated as an ant. But eventually you will have evolved to a point in your spiritual evolution that you recognize you’re not a separate, individual entity… you are that Self-shining Light of Awareness.
This is called the return of Shakti.
Vimarsha — again, the power of Self-reflection — arises within you as the desire to see beneath the surface of life. It’s the spark that ignites a flame inside you which sets you off on the journey of Self-discovery. And it’s the guiding force that leads you through every step of that journey and into enlightenment. This power is always with you and always available to you.
The transformational work of this force is sometimes referred to as the descent of grace. The Christian tradition depicts it as a descending dove. The tantrikas call it shaktipat — the downward flowing transmission of energy that sparks the initial stages of awakening.
The more aware we become of our Light — the more en-light-ened we become — the more wonder and awe fills our heart and mind. As this happens we fall in love with Life Itself.
That love is the force that unites.
Love throws back the veil. Love reveals the Light.

American Dr Stuart Hameroff and British physicist Sir Roger Penrose developed a quantum theory of consciousness asserting that our souls are contained inside structures called microtubules which live within our brain cells.
Their idea stems from the notion of the brain as a biological computer, “with 100 billion neurons and their axonal firings and synaptic connections acting as information networks”.
Dr Hameroff, Professor Emeritus at the Departments of Anesthesiology and Psychology and Director of the Centre of Consciousness Studies at the University of Arizona, and Sir Roger have been working on the theory since 1996.
They argue that our experience of consciousness is the result of quantum gravity effects inside these microtubules – a process they call orchestrated objective reduction (Orch-OR).In a near-death experience the microtubules lose their quantum state, but the information within them is not destroyed. Or in layman’s terms, the soul does not die but returns to the universe.
“Let’s say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing, the microtubules lose their quantum state,” Dr Hameroff said.
“The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can’t be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large.
‘If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says “I had a near death experience”.’
In the event of the patient’s death, it was “possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body indefinitely – as a soul”.
Dr Hameroff believes new findings about the role quantum physics plays in biological processes, such as the navigation of birds, adds weight to the theory.—————————————————————————————————————————

Purusha and Prakriti, a great union of the 2 forces.
Purusha and Prakriti are the manifestation of the single self in the same Universe. In Indian Philosophy, majorly in Sankhya, Purusha is regarded as Masculine (Shiva), and Prakriti is regarded as Power (Shakti). This is a dualistic view, however, unites to the singularity. It is in such a way that Purusha and Prakriti are incomplete without each other. On, deductive reasoning we find that there can exist a certain counterpart for each item that is single.
However, this is not in the sense of coupling of male beings-female beings but a union between the consciousness and the counterpart power. In a later phase, there is the development of the concept between male-female beings also through the Tantra.
