Applicando tecniche di machine learning a dieci anni di dati raccolti dall’osservatorio antartico per neutrini IceCube, i ricercatori della IceCube Collaboration hanno ottenuto la prima prova statisticamente significativa dell’esistenza di un’emissione di neutrini provenienti dalle regioni interne della Via Lattea…enorme rete di cinquemila fotomoltiplicatori calati nei ghiacci del Polo Sud a formare un rivelatore da un chilometro cubo – il più grande al mondo per lo studio di queste inafferrabili particelle.

What is the EU AI Act?

The AI Act is a proposed European law on artificial intelligence (AI) – the first law on AI by a major regulator anywhere. The law assigns applications of AI to three risk categories. First, applications and systems that create an unacceptable risk, such as government-run social scoring of the type used in China, are banned. Second, high-risk applications, such as a CV-scanning tool that ranks job applicants, are subject to specific legal requirements.
