When I first started my job at the age of 19, the place of posting was around 200 kms and the only convenient mode of travel was by train. It took about six hours to reach there. In such a situation, daily commuting was not possible.

I took a room on rent there, but every weekend I used to come back to Varanasi. One Friday I was down with fever, and travelling in such a condition was unfit, but I boarded my usual train.

As soon as I set foot in Varanasi Cantt. station, I started feeling a little better. And when I got home, I was absolutely fine, not a sign of fever or discomfort. It was like a miracle. My friends and relatives called it “homesickness”. And I accepted their point with all humility.
