Vanuatu officially calls for fossil fuel nonproliferation treaty

Up to now, a fossil fuel nonproliferation treaty was only an idea. But this last week in September, the president of the island nation, Vanuatu, officially called on the United Nations to adopt it.

You can watch is short speech here. The proposed treaty has three pillars.
